Alumni Summer Picnic in Moscow, or, How the Russian Alumni Chapter Became a Top CEU Donor
On August 5, 2012, CEU alumni, friends and recently admitted students got together for a day of picnicking, sunbathing, chatting, playing frisbee and volleyball, and simply having a great time together in Moscow's Gorky Park. The event gathered 21 people, among whom were alumni, friends and even a new CEU student, due to start her program in Budapest in September 2012. The event served as a way for new and existing members of the Russian alumni chapter to connect with each other over their shared experience of CEU and Budapest, while doing something positive together.
Make Russia the #1 CEU Alumni Chapter
Another way for alumni to make a difference was by participating in the Russia Donation Challenge: an initiative organized by local alumni chapter leaders Xenia Shevnina (POLS '04) and Liubov Yaroshenko (POLS '07) with the goal of helping fund student scholarships, in addition to other important and urgent projects at CEU. As much as 50% of the group took on the Challenge by making gifts of varying sizes to the CEU Alumni Campaign.

The university would like to thank the donors for their vote of confidence and generosity. Not only are these gifts a significant contribution to campus life and our students, but they have also bumped the CEU Alumni Chapter in Russia from 14th up to 8th place in Alumni Campaign participation (see the latest rankings).
With fewer than 50 more gifts from local alumni, the chapter is bound to top the global Alumni Campaign rankings! Help Russia become the #1 most philanthropically active CEU alumni group by making a gift of any size now:
This event was sponsored by the CEU Alumni Chapter Grant Program.
