The Vitali Silitski supplementary annual scholarship at Central European University (CEU) was established in 2011 in memory of the late Vitali Silitski (December 25, 1972 - June 11, 2011), and his contribution to CEU and the Belarusian CEU alumni community.
Vitali is a CEU alumnus, friend and a distinguished Belarusian scholar. We believe that his memory will be a guiding example for future generations of Belarusian professionals around the world, whose CEU experience will be an important milestone in their personal and professional growth.
We are asking CEU alumni for a contribution of $10, $20, $50 or any other amount to the Vitali Silitski supplementary annual scholarship. The donation can securely be made online (via PayPal or CEU's secure online giving form above), in cash at the CEU Alumni Relations & Career Services office or by bank transfer. About the Scholarship
Belarusian students of any department at CEU will be eligible to apply for the scholarship during their year(s) of study. Eligible students should demonstrate academic excellence, a commitment to social activism, and financial need. Students will be asked to submit their application forms along with a CV, which will be reviewed by an appointed selection committee of Belarusian alumni, CEU Alumni Office representatives and external experts.
Subject to the success of our fundraising campaign with your help, the scholarship award will be $750, or more depending on the success of the campaign. Upon award of the scholarship, the selected student will be expected to volunteer to complete a research project or a campus activity task, designed to make a lasting impact on the University and mark the importance of CEU's global community of alumni, students, faculty and friends from Belarus.
